Anne Perry, better known as in New Zealand as teenage murderer Juliet Hulme, will speak on 60 Minutes this Sunday, ahead of the release of an in-depth biography. With her friend Pauline Parker, Perry killed Pauline's mother in Christchurch in 1954, in a story which made headlines all around the world and was embellished in Peter Jackson's 1994 film Heavenly Creatures. Juliet was found guilty and spent five and a half years in prison. Following her release, she changed her identity and became something of a recluse in Scotland, where she set about turning herself into a writer of murder mysteries. More than 12 million copies of her books have sold world wide, but she has remained incredibly private. Perry's interview with reporter Guyon Espiner will screen on 60 Minutes, on TV3, this Sunday at 7.30PM, and will discuss her trial in Christchurch, the experience of being jailed as a teenager, and what happened when her identity was revealed. It comes as a biography by Joanne Drayton is about to be released.
