QWU rehearsals are in full swing under the instruction of choreographer Sarah Boocock The producers of the upcoming Queen of the Whole Universe pageant have confirmed all its contestants are residents of their respective nations, in the wake of the controversy which has struck Miss Universe New Zealand. The newly crowned Miss Universe New Zealand may be stripped of her tiara because she is not a New Zealander. South African-born Avianca Bohm is unlikely to be able to attend Donald Trump's Miss Universe pageant later this year unless her citizenship is fast-tracked. Queen of the Whole Universe Creative Director Jonathan Smith acknowledges there has been widespread news regarding the controversy surrounding Miss Universe New Zealand over the past few days. He says the news has sullied the good virtues housed by a wide range of pageants across the world. In an effort to retain the honesty and prestige of Queen of the Whole Universe, especially considering this is its final performance, Creative Director Jonathan Smith has left nothing to chance. Carefully screening all 35 contestants in this year’s pageant and making sure they meet their entry requirements, organisers are delighted to announce that all entries are residents of their respective countries.
