Thu 31 May 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

David Huebner The US Ambassador to New Zealand David Huebner has expressed disgust at an attack which left a gay Auckland teenager unconscious in a gutter. “It's 2012. Not acceptable,” Huebner has tweeted. Zakk d’Larte, 18, has made a complaint to police about the attack at Westhaven Marina on Saturday night. He says he was set upon by three men who said things like “I wish we could do to the gays what Hitler did to the Jews.” The teenager says he was knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly, then left lying unconscious in a gutter for a number of hours.
