Lawless (left) says Carlson (right) is NZ's funniest stand-up, ever. Lucy Lawless has labelled lesbian funny girl Urzila Carlson "the funniest Kiwi stand-up ever" in a 'loves and hates' section of the Weekend Herald's Canvas magazine. "See her on YouTube," Lawless recommends. Also among the Spartacus star and straight lesbian icon's loves are "Gays: perhaps because of their struggle for acceptance, they are far more concerned with fairness". Also in her top three loves is feijoa season, while doing dishes, slow trains and tomcat pee are her three hates. Lawless, who sings as well as acts, is performing at the King's Arms in Auckland tomorrow night. After first trying stand-up as a dare, Carlson continues to bound forward in her comedy career, proving a highlight at the recent New Zealand International Comedy Festival and appearing on current events comedy show Seven Days. Check her out in a video below.
