Website begins 'clamour' for marriage rights

Fri 11 May 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

A website has emerged with a form which allows people to send John Key a message calling for marriage equality. The Prime Minister has had a variety of stances on the issue, and while yesterday he said there was ‘no clamour’ for gay marriage in New Zealand, he has today been quoted as saying he is not opposed to gay marriage, but stopped short of making as supportive statement like US President Barack Obama. “Our PM is stuck in the past,” the website marriageequality.co.nz says. “Tell John Key that marriage equality matters to you.”
