TVNZ7’s Hindsight programme will tonight look back on the portrayal of gay people on New Zealand TV over the years. The Damien Christie hosted show looks at current issues and debates by examining them through the lens of history. “It wasn't easy to be gay in New Zealand before 1986,” promotion for the tonight’s episode reads. “These days people are more open-minded and accepting. Hindsight looks at what has changed over the years and how these changes came about.” Hindsight screens on Tuesdays at 9.05PM and Wednesdays at 1.05PM, while it will also be available on demand.
