Fundraiser donated works from 22 artists

Sat 5 May 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

Men Looking by Graeme Hitchcock Organisers of Wellington's upcoming art fundraiser are full of gratitude for the 22 queer artists who have donated works to the exhibition. Under the Rainbow 2 will raise fund for Wellington's annual glbti fair day Out in the Square. It officially opens in Wellington's Thistle Gallery on Monday. "The response from artists this time around has been amazing," says organiser Andy Boreham. "We've got everything from sketches to glass sculptures to photograph prints to collage to paintings, and they will all be auctioned off to raise funds for Out in the Square." Under the Rainbow 2 launches officially on Monday at 6pm, with entertainment and drinks, plus a chance to check out the pieces before the auction on Saturday 12 May. "Everyone is welcome, no invite necessary," Boreham says. The exhibition will run until Saturday 12 May, and will close with the official auction from 8pm. "Everyone is welcome and there will be entertainment and drink and nibbles, plus a chance to take home some queer art," Boreham finishes.
