A promo shot for the cruise No less than 1,800 gay and lesbian cruisers will arrive in Auckland next February to board a ship that will pull in at a number of the country's ports before heading across the Tasman for Mardi Gras. The Atlantis Auckland to Sydney Mardi Gras Cruise has already sold out. "Three years ago we launched the very first gay cruise to Sydney Mardi Gras, and Atlantis is proud to return onboard the exquisite 5-star Oosterdam as we sail from Auckland to Sydney," Atlantis says. "In eleven magical days, you'll discover amazing scenic wonders, sophisticated cities, and friendly cultures through two of the world's most beautiful countries. Onboard you'll find the most diverse entertainment Atlantis has ever offered, bringing together the best of the USA and Australia for an unforgettable experience both onboard and ashore." The cruise ship will pick up its passengers in Auckland on 20 February, then head to White Island the next day, after which it will pull in to Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, before heading to Melbourne and Sydney. Atlantis is also promising a surprise guest star: "Joan Rivers, Patti LuPone, Chita Rivera, Rosie O'Donnell, Blondie, Chita Rivera, Deborah Cox, Jennifer Hudson, and many others have joined us in the past. Who knows who will show up this year!"
