Lesbian mum fights back against Boy Scouts

An American lesbian who was pushed out of Boy Scouts of America for being gay is fighting back with an awareness campaign. Ohio den leader Jennifer Tyrrell, 32, was asked to step down from her seven-year-old son Cruz’s troop and told "it was known you are gay.” In March, she was removed from her position and told her that her sexual orientation "did not meet the high standards" of conduct set by the Boy Scouts of America "We can no longer support an organization that has these policies and we hope to get them changed," Tyrrell has told ABC News. "That is our main goal." "But Cruz is a little sad," Tyrrell added. "We loved scouting." More than 140,000 people have signed a petition backing Tyrell on Change.org. The family appeared on stage at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, which you can see in the video below:
