Photography by Priscilla Northe, of Striped Tees Productions Two leading lesbian body artists are planning to make a splash with a UV body paint party, as they raise funds for their bid to attend the world body painting championships in Austria in July. Magdalena O’Connor and Amelia Hitchcock have each picked up national body painting titles over the past two years, and now want to take their talent to the global stage. They have formed the group MADesigns along with model Georgie Goater and the pinnacle of their fundraising effort will be this Thursday’s Illusions Body Paint Party at 4:20 in Auckland. Doors will open at 8PM for a speed painting competition, with the likes of scene regulars Miss Phloss and A UV paint by O'Connor. Photography by Priscilla Northe. Custom UV face and body paint will be available all night, while there will also be performances ranging from beatboxing to burlesque, plus live DJs and MCs. “It’s a fundraiser for us to WIN worlds,” O’Connor tells GayNZ.com Daily News. “We’ve dedicated this whole year to getting there, everything we’ve done has been focused on getting there, and going will just be amazing.” There is a $15 cover charge and O’Connor urges people to turn up before 10PM if they are looking for door sales.
