Dharun Ravi The former Rutgers student who broadcast on his gay roommate’s sex life on the web says maintains he is not to blame for his peer’s death. Dharun Ravi, 20, has been found guilty of 15 criminal counts including bias intimidation, invasion of privacy, tampering with evidence and tampering with a witness and faces up to ten years in prison and possible deportation to India. He spied on his roommate Tyler Clementi with a webcam, and the 18-year-old later took his own life. In an interview with ABC News’ Chris Cuomo, Ravi said, “I was 18, I was stupid, I wouldn’t think about my actions beyond a minute into a future. I was a dumb kid not thinking about it.” Ravi said he does not hate gay people and wasn’t trying to intimidate Clementi by filming him having sex.
