Sean Mac A DJ who has played for Lady Gaga and at some of the biggest dance parties in the USA will spin at the more intimate Urge Bar on Auckland's K' Rd this Saturday. Atlanta resident Sean Mac is bringing his unique mix of uplifting beats to New Zealand for the first time ever. Mac has been DJing since 1995 and has headlined at a host of dance events including Real Bad in San Francisco, Wonder World at Disneyland and Furball in New York. He found out about Urge after seeing pictures of friends at one of the men's bars events on Facebook. “From there, a conversation started,” he explains. Mac says his music style is mainly vocal, tribal and disco house. “My flavour is cinematic. I collected film scores when I was younger and that seeps into my sets both literally and figuratively. My latest podcast opens with a recent remix of Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka, for instance,” he says. “My goal is to become one with a dance floor, so I keep the energy up with stuff that we all want to dance to,” Mac says, when asked what people can expect from his set. “I'm also pretty animated. It's kind of a joke, but I have to dance while I'm DJing. Laugh if you must - it works!” Tickets to see Sean Mac cost just $10 and are available at URGE Bar, 490 K Rd. Early arrival is recommended.
