Sexual health workers have had a busy week following up on HIV and other STI tests conducted at the Big Gay Out last weekend. Staff from the NZ AIDS Foundation's Burnett Centre carried out 70 HIV tests on the day with no positive results. Although the tests were conducted at the Centre's stand at the BGO throughout Sunday afternoon results and any follow-up were provided throughout the week in the more controlled setting of the Centre's College Hill offices. By late afternoon a team from Auckland Sexual Health is understood to have carried out 80 chlamydia and gonorrhoea tests at the BGO. Calls from GayNZ.com Daily News to check on the overall outcome of those tests have not been returned.
