"Gay robot" confronts Bachmann at rally

Tue 27 Dec 2011 In: International News View at Wayback

US: Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann had to call in police to calm a rally in Iowa City when a "gay robot" appeared and shouted accusations through a megaphone that she was both "a homophobe and a robophobe." "RoboProf" turned up at a packed restaurant and accused Bachmann of both human and robot discrimination. "Not only are you a homophobe, you are a robophobe!" the self-professed gay robot chanted. He was booed by Bachmann supporters and asked to leave, but declined. “I am a gay robot,” the demonstrator pressed on. “I oppose Bachmann’s position on gays, whether they are human or robot.” Things then went even wilder as Occupy protestors, who were also in the restaurant, started chanting "Michele Bachmann will fix the economy by laying off workers and cutting their pay ... Michele Bachmann fights proudly for marriage unless the couple happens to be gay." Bachmann's campaign staff tried to drown them out with Christmas music they blared through stereos. Eventually, police were called to the restaurant. No arrests were made. Watch a video of RoboProf confronting Bachmann outside the diner below:
