Sydney readies to farewell trans Goddess Carmen

Glbt mourners from both sides of the Tasman are gathering for tomorrow's farewell of transgender legend Carmen Rupe in Sydney. Friends including tranny granny Jacquie Grant, Miss K and Miss Ribena have flown to Australia for the funeral. A Polly's Follies tribute was held last night at Sydney's Stonewall Hotel, and Koko D'Vyne reports it "was amazing performing with the legendry Les Girls, Del Williams, Cindy Pastel, Angel, Ribena, 3D and many more. Was a stunning evening a true celebration to Carmen." Many have paid respects to Carmen as she lies in state, resplendent in red, at the Te Wairua Rapu Church in Redfern. Her service will be held at the church from 12PM tomorrow, after which there will be a celebration of her life. However many of Carmen's friends from her Wellington heyday are unable to make it across the ditch, and will instead attend a memorial function at S
