Carmen Rupe R.I.P. A memorial get together is being planned for late January in Wellington to enable those who can't be at Carmen Rupe's funeral on Tuesday to gather and celebrate her life. "Many people can't get to Sydney for the funeral either because of the cost or it being so close to Christmas, " says Malcolm Kennedy-Vaughan, who is himself unable to get away from business commitments. Kennedy-Vaughan says Carmen "took me under her wing when I was just 15" and was a huge influence in his life. "She could be a forbidding presence but always she was graceful and elegant and never had a bad word to say about anyone... and she was one of those magical people who was always surrounded by other people, somehow she just drew folk to her.
