"1.5" and 2nd generation glbts sought for doco

Wed 14 Dec 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The creators of a new documentary series are looking for 1.5 or 2nd generation glbt New Zealanders who want to share their stories. A 1.5 generation New Zealander is someone who was born overseas but moved here as a child or teenager. Both Worlds is a series which is looking for people with a foot in two cultural camps: that of their cultural heritage and New Zealand culture. Its creators say as a series committed to cultural diversity of all kinds it is important that some of its stories present gay perspectives. "What have been some of your toughest challenges being gay, bi-sexual or transgender and a 2nd or 1.5 generation Kiwi? Are you struggling to come out? Have you come out and are now suffering the consequences? Whatever your case may be, we want to hear about it!" is the message they have. GayNZ.com is told filming is already underway and is looking "fantastic". If you'd like to get involved, email: info@notablepictures.com, or phone: 09 973 5731
