Finlayson retains Attorney General role

Chris Finlayson Gay MP Christopher Finlayson has retained his role as Attorney-General in the new cabinet announced today by Prime Minister John Key. The National party's only out MP, Finlayson also retains his roles as Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations and Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage and picks up Associate Minister of Maori Affairs. The vociferously anti-gay John Banks, now ACT's only MP, is confirmed as Associate Minister of Education while Judith Collins, who voted against legalising Civil Unions for same-sex couples, has been moved out of Police to become Minister of Justice.
