Police believe Hayden Miles was murdered Christchurch police have today charged three people in relation to the murder of teenager Hayden Miles, who disappeared in August. A 27-year-old man has been charged with his murder. An 18-year-old woman has been charged with being an accessory after the fact, while a 35-year-old man has also been charged with robbery in relation to an incident on 22 August, the day Hayden was last seen. All three will appear in court tomorrow on the charges. Hayden was 15 when he went missing. Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill says police are searching for the teen's body and are currently conducting a scene examination at the Ruru Lawn Cemetery in Linwood. "The arrests and charges today have come about as a result of people who have come forward and from information gathered during the enquiry" he says. "The Operation Miles investigation team has worked relentlessly over recent weeks to progress the enquiry to the point where we have made these arrests. "Hayden's family have been kept fully up to date with today's developments in the case. They have requested privacy at this time." As police searched for the teenager, his family sent flyers far and wide and his uncle appealed to the glbt community for help, saying his family believed he had friends in the community.
