Chauvel's race with Dunne too close to call

Sat 12 Nov 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News

Charles Chauvel's battle against Peter Dunne is "too close to call" Rainbow Labour MP Charles Chauvel is breathing down Peter Dunne's neck in the Ohariu electorate, a new poll shows. The Fairfax Media-Research International mini poll shows the United Future leader, who has held the north Wellington seat for the past 27 years, could be sent packing. Dunne is on 37.4 per cent, while Chauvel is on 35.6 per cent. A massive 34.6 per cent of voters were undecided. The poll, conducted on Wednesday night, surveyed 163 voters and has a margin of error of 7 per cent. Research International spokesman Paul Epplett said that means the race for Ohariu is too close to call. ''There are a lot of people who are going to stand in the ballot box and make up their mind at that point in time.''
