HRC releases trans resource for schools

Fri 11 Nov 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News

A new resource on transgender students in schools has been released by the Human Rights Commission. It looks at a number of questions, including how schools can support trans students and their families, what name and pronoun should be put on a trans student's school documentation and what uniform or dress code applies. Other questions it cover are what changing area a student should use and which sports team they should play for. The resource is part of the Commission's new set of fact sheets on trans people, which include images of people from around the world who attended the inaugural Pacific and Asia regional trans and intersex hui in March 2011. The full set or individual fact sheets can be downloaded here
