Bearracuda makes Auckland the place to be

Tue 8 Nov 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News

Florida's Francisco Guerra will DJ People are jetting in from across the globe for this weekend's Bearracuda dance party at Auckland venue 4:20. “We have people flying in from London, South Carolina, Texas, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and around New Zealand for the party. This is the only stop for Bearracuda south of the equator for the remainder of 2011," says co-promoter Alan Granville. “We had such a great turnout last year and we hope to be even bigger and better this time around.” Bearracuda returns to New Zealand for the second time after playing in 20 cities across North America and Australasia. Granville said the night is shaping up to be a huge event. The dance parties have been voted "best club for queer men" for four years running by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. This year sees the return of Florida-based spinner Francisco Guerra, who wowed audiences at the first Bearracuda Auckland last year. Since then he has gone on to play the main room at Sydney’s Mardi Gras. Joining him is Sydney-based DJ Matt Effect – a frequent visitor to these shores having played at both Tri-Nations parties. The party takes place at 4:20 Bar, 373 K Road with limited tickets available at Marvel Menswear (Ponsonby Rd), Marcellos Café (College Hill), Urge Bar (K Rd) or online at http://www.iticketexpress.co.nz/events/2011/nov/bearracuda-auckland/. Tickets cost $30 (plus booking fee) or $40 at the door. Voted "Best club for queer men" for FOUR years running by the San Francisco Bay Guardian
