Ali Mau and friends at GABA Gold The Gay Auckland Business Association raised thousands of dollars for its charitable trust at last night's GABA Gold auction, which was hosted by the stunning Ali Mau. Around 200 people, including a number of MPs, attended the classy event at the Langham in all their finery. A print of Ross Watson's Soldiers, Off Set went for $2,200, while dinner for six with the newly-single Labour MP Maryan Street sold for $2,000. A number of items will be put up for bids on Trade Me, after which the full auction profits will be announced. All proceeds go to the Gay Auckland Business Association's Charitable Trust, which helps community groups and out students with academic promise.
