Carter (left) is considered past it when it comes to looks, with France's Trinh-Duc seen as the man of the future Former favourite Dan Carter has been left out in the cold by gay rugby fans, who have picked Frenchman Francois Trinh-Duc as the most visually appealing first-five in their Rugby World Cup 1st XV. Chairman of selectors Dean Knight says Carter was still available for selection despite his dodgy groin, "but the view was taken that the underwear man is now past his prime," he says. "There was a universal view amongst the selectors that France's Trinh-Duc is the man for the future." All Blacks who did make the cut are Sonny Bill Williams at 12, Richard Kahui on the right wing and Owen Franks in one of the propping positions. He beat out his brother Ben Franks due to his "dashing blue eyes". The picks were made by more than 250 gays with a special eye for rugby players on Facebook page Queer Eye for the Rugby Guy RWC 2011, and whittled down by a team of selectors.
