Cape Town: Four convicted of murdering lesbian

Sat 8 Oct 2011 In: International News View at Wayback

Zoliswa Nkonyana Four men have been convicted of murdering a lesbian in Cape Town in a "corrective rape" case that has lasted five years. The four men stoned, kicked and stabbed 19-year-old openly-lesbian Zoliswa Nkonyana to death near her home in 2006. AFP reoprts Magistrate Raadiyah Wathen acquitted three others because there was no evidence that linked them to the killing, though they were present when it occurred. Two others were set free last month. The case was postponed more than 30 times because defence lawyers were changed or failed to arrive at court.
