Fri 12 Aug 2011 In: International News View at Wayback

Work is set to begin on Australia's first-ever gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender retirement village next year. The 120-unit Linton Estate retirement village will be built in Ballan, near Geelong, in Victoria. It will include an indoor heated spa, bar and croquet lawn. The Geelong Advertiser reports interested people will be able to buy units off the plan in two months time. Situated at the junction of Old Melbourne and Ballan-Geelong roads, the complex will be built in five stages. Developer Peter Dickson says it will be a haven for the glbt community, adding he has had expressions of interest from 226 people from across the world including Turkey, England and the US.
