Teonna Brown has pleaded guilty over the attack US: A 19-year-old woman has pleaded guilty over the brutal beating of a transgender woman in a McDonald's in Baltimore. Local media report Teonna Brown pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree assault and one count of a hate crime in the attack on 22-year-old Chrissy Polis. A cellphone-recorded video of the April beating by Brown and a 14-year-old friend went viral after it was posted online by a McDonald's employee, who was later fired for doing nothing to stop the attack. Polis was dragged by the hair and kicked in the beating, which began when her attackers shouted,"That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom". The pair also spat in her face. "The ordeal is not over for her. She continues to suffer on a daily basis, particularly because of the notoriety the YouTube video has caused," says Mark Scurti, Polis' lawyer. Brown pled guilty to first-degree assault, which carries a 25-year maximum sentence. And to a hate crime, which carries 10 years. But under the plea deal, the state is only recommending she serve five years.
