More fake lesbianism exposed in cyber world

Wed 15 Jun 2011 In: International News View at Wayback

Not Paula Brooks Another 'lesbian writer' has turned out to be a major hoax, with the creator of the lesbian news site Lez Get Real emerging as a straight man. After coming under the microscope of Washington Post reporters, "Paula Brooks" has come clean and admitted actually being a Bill Graber, a 58-year-old Air Force veteran and retired construction worker from Ohio. He was using the identity of his wife, Paula Brooks, to run a website which shared "a gay girl's view on the world". His wife had no idea. It follows the revelation blogger A Gay Girl in Damascus is actually an American man studying in Scotland, named Tom MacMaster. He was caught out after his made up character was in a fake kidnap plot. The two men even fooled each other in their various trickeries – at one stage flirting with each other via email. Graber said he the website was "done with the best intentions" and that he was inspired to launch it after seeing lesbian friends suffer discrimination and because he wanted to see "don't ask, don't tell" repealed. The website will likely be handed over to one of its lesbian writers, Graber told the Washington Post.
