Chris Carter may nab United Nations role

Sun 5 Jun 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News

There's a report Chris Carter is set to take up a job at the United Nations before the end of the year. The Sunday Star Times reports the former Labour MP has just returned from a three-week trip to New York where he said he had positive meetings over working at the UN. "I had some very interesting and productive interviews, so we'll see." If the Te Atatu MP does take up a job at the UN, he will join former his former boss Helen Clark, who is the administrator of the UN's Development Programme. However he would not be working in her team. Carter told the newspaper nothing was confirmed. "Until it's in the hand, it's not in the bag."
