The Capital Fetish Ball is not for the fainthearted One of Wellington's sexiest and most popular events the Capital Fetish Ball is heading to The Garden Club in August, with organisers planning a mind-blowing three-level, performer-packed experience. Ever-popular with queer crowds, last year's ball reached full capacity and event co-promoter Greig Wilson says all three levels of the Garden Club will be used this time around, for the "Saints and Sinners" themed night on Saturday 27 August. The headline act is Anastasia Elektra, who merges belly dancing and burlesque. She will be supported by Fuse Circus and their aerial performance, with Spanish Web performers suspended high in the air. "We are delighted with the high calibre of artists we have confirmed. The crowds can expect to be blown away," Wilson says. He says the Capital Fetish Ball is not for the fainthearted, but rather for people who enjoy expressing themselves in a sexual nature. "It is a big dress up party a little like the 7s but with a sensual twist," he explains. Wilson says the annual event has gathered momentum since its inception in 2007 and is now one of the largest, and not to mention kinkiest events on the New Zealand fetish scene with people traveling from all over New Zealand and as far away as Australia. "People have been known to spend several thousand dollars on their outfits. Leather, PVC, lace, skin and tattoos will be on show." Tickets are available from Dash Tickets.
