Carlson pipped by P North comedian

Mon 23 May 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Urzila Carlson has missed out on the Billy T Award, which has gone to a Palmerston North comedian. Nick Gibb took out the yellow towel at the Last Laugh awards night at SkyCity Theatre in Auckland last night, which closed the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. Gibb won the Wellington Raw Comedy Quest 2010. The Billy T nomination capped off a strong first three years of comedy for Carlson, who won Best Newcomer from the Comedy Guild in 2008 and Best Female Comedian last year. Carlson is next performing at the Matariki Festival in Wellington on 19 June, then Queenstown Winter Festival from 25-30 June.
