Priscilla actor Bill Hunter dies

Bill Hunter (r) and Terrence Stamp in Priscilla Bill Hunter, the Australian actor who played a mechanic who couples up with a transgender woman in the movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, has died, aged 71. In the movie a troupe of urban drag performers become stranded when their bus breaks down in the outback. Bob, a rural mechanic played by Hunter, repairs the bus and travels onward with the artistes, later falling for the sardonic transgender woman Bernadette, played by Terence Stamp. Hunter appeared in numerous Australian movies including Muriel's Wedding and Strictly Ballroom. He was also a frequent featured actor in TV series but was recently diagnosed with cancer.
