Auckland glbt community urged to have its say

Fri 13 May 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Members of Auckland's glbt community are being encouraged to make submissions on Auckland Council's 30 year plan. A council spokesperson says it's the first document of its kind and it will direct the work of the Auckland Council, therefore it's vital for people to have their say. "It's vital that all Auckland's diverse communities have their say. The gay community is an important part of Auckland's vibrant landscape and the Auckland plan needs to reflect that vibrancy. However to make sure that everyone's voice is heard we need to make sure people make a submission," the spokesperson says. To make a submission to the Auckland Council's 30 year plan fill in the online questions at www.theaucklandplan.govt.nz or email theauckandplan@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz People can also post feedback via twitter using the hashtag #aklplan or Facebook at www.facebook.com/alkcouncil.
