A contingent of snow sports enthusiasts from the world's largest glbt ski club is planning a trip down to Queenstown for Gay Ski Week. Members of Ski Bums, which is based in the US and has more than 750 members in the US, Canada and the UK, will bring their passion for powder to the annual week of snow and parties. It's Ski Bums' first trip to the Southern Hemisphere and Gay Ski Week Event Director Mike Sanford is thrilled. "I've been in communication with them for years and out of the blue got a call from the Ski Bums director who said he is organising a group for the event, so this is exciting news,” says Sanford. The club's director Chris French is based in New York and is in charge of more than a dozen annual group trips to the world's best ski resorts. The trip to New Zealand is featured prominently on their website, as shown in the ad above. "It's awesome the international interest we are getting," Sanford says. "And we can't wait to host the Ski Bums members and show them some true Kiwi hospitality.” The ninth annual event is only three months away and is to be held July 23-31 in Queenstown.
