Hundreds lock lips outside London pub

Sat 16 Apr 2011 In: International News

Several hundred people have taken part in a “kiss in” outside a London pub, where two men were thrown out for a public display of affection. The protestors had planned to stage the demonstration inside the John Snow in Soho, central London, but the doors were locked. The group was showing solidarity for 26-year-old financial journalist Jonathan Williams and 23-year-old charity volunteer James Bull, 23, who were kicked out of the bar on Wednesday by a woman claiming to be the landlady and accusing them of being "obscene" because they were kissing. Both straight and gay couples took part in a mass kiss, after which Williams said the turnout was "magnificent and overwhelming". He told the Press Association, "It's fantastic so many people actually came. I think it will at least make people reconsider their prejudices and remember that everyone has feelings."
