Studio will be turned into a massive gay dance party on Easter Sunday as a fundraiser for HIV-support charity Body Positive. The K’ Rd venue, popular for concerts and dance parties, has been chosen as the venue for Sexy, a sweaty Sunday night holiday romp on the dancefloor. It will feature Australian DJ Alex Taylor, who has been at the forefront of the dance scene across the Tasman for more than a decade. Steven Oates is also on the DJ bill, while entertainment will be provided by Miss Ribena, Buckwheat, the Southside Sisters and many more. “It will be a big dance party extravaganza,” says Miss Ribena. “And Studio will be the only place on K’ Rd open other than Family due to holiday licencing rules.” When: 24 April Where: Studio, 340 K’ Rd How much: $15 presales from Family, $20 on the door
