Darren Hughes 9.20AM: Darren Hughes has confirmed he is the Labour MP who is being investigated by police after an alleged late night incident involving an 18-year-old man. "I am doing so because I think it is unfair that my colleagues should be subjected to speculation and suspicion," he said. "I am aware that a complaint has been made to the police and I am cooperating fully with them. "I have done nothing wrong and I have full confidence that the legal processes will lead to the right outcome." Hughes is a third term Labour MP who was voted into Parliament at the age of 24, in 2002 as MP for Otaki. He is now a list MP and the party's Senior Whip, ranked eighth in the party caucus.
