Sat 12 Mar 2011 In: Out Games News View at NDHA

8.30AM: A small number of Japanese gays and lesbians is understood to have registered for the 2nd Asia Pacific Out Games but so far the organisers don't know if the earthquake and tsunami tragedy in Japan last evening will affect their attendance. "Several Japanese people are registered but as of 8 o'clock last night none had called by the Games Hub to collect their IDs," says Out Games Co-Chair David Hindley. The Japanese were understoond to be primarily interested in the human rights conference being held with the Out Games. Hindley says there are no concerns about their welfare or attendance yet. The first Human Rights elements of the Games commence on Wednesday. GayNZ.com Daily News staff - 12th March 2011
