Surprise guests lined up for Pink Flight

Thu 3 Mar 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News

A couple of surprise guests will join the Mardi Gras bound masses on the most fabulous flight of them all, the Pink Flight to Sydney, which takes off tomorrow afternoon. Air New Zealand's fifth anniversary Pink Flight has a SuperHERO theme. It will begin with a lounge party from 2pm at Auckland's International Terminal hosted by supreme queen Buckwheat and her drag queen team. The event will also include two of New Zealand's own heroes of the gay community, who will join the partiers on the flight for mile-high cocktails, before landing in Sydney to keep the party going for the parade and party weekend. While tickets on the flight sold out months ago, a number were recently released, due to passengers who don't want to leave quake-ravaged Christchurch. GayNZ.com will have full coverage of the Pink Flight and Mardi Gras, with reporter Jacqui Stanford to document her first trip to biggest gay party Downunder.
