Big Gay Out pulled another strong crowd

Mon 9 Feb 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at NDHA

Around 12,000 to 15,000 people are estimated to have attended yesterday’s Big Gay Out. Organisers Love Your Condom (LYC) say that’s similar to the 2014 attendance level at Coyle Park in Pt Chevalier. “Although people started arriving a lot earlier this year and the part had quickly filled up by 1pm,” adds LYC spokesperson Joe Rich. “The crowd was fantastic, it was great to see so much diversity and representation from our rainbow communities.” He says LYC distributed 20,000 condoms and the NZAF Burnett Centre tested 209 people. The Auckland Pride Festival continues for the rest of the month.
